ABOUT

Casey Robb
Welcome to my website! I was once a physical therapist and later a civil engineer. But always a lover of poetry and story.
Some of my quirks include world traveler, history buff, voracious reader, guitar player, fiddler, quilter, photographer, equestrian, and Spanish speaker who lived two years in Mexico and landed in a Mexican jail (yikes!). And saving the best for last... a single adoptive mom. Now that's an adventure!
POETRY
In the 1990's, I joined a poetry critique group with three expert mentors. I especially liked the accessible poems that non-poets could enjoy. A new movement called Neo-Formalism was bringing back the forms (sonnets, villanelles, etc.) for modern subjects. In this medium, I thrived, and many of my poems were published and won awards, including two trophies at statewide poetry conventions.

SHORT STORIES
Later, I joined an online critique group for fiction, and submitted my short stories, and the journal acceptances started coming in. And I was hooked. Each story has a bit of memoir ... but I won't say which part! Ha, ha! That's the beauty of fiction. Enjoy!

NOVEL

Retirement arrived and I found an online course for writing a novel -- a daunting task, but I jumped right in, glad to explore my Texas roots. Every morning, I'd wake up eager to write and edit and write and edit. After beta readings, developmental editing, copy editing, and proofreading, it's always on the verge of being done. And is still not. But soon, soon!
